The Backhand Drive
Back Swing
- Racket moves back towards the waist.
- Wrist is angled backwards
- Rotate backwards at waist and hips.
Forward Movement
- Racket moves straight forward.
- Elbow moves slightly forward.
- Contact before top of the bounce, in front of the body and slightly to the left side.
- Wrist closes over the ball at contact.
- This is often described as being similar to throwing a Frisbee.
Follow Through
- Racket moves in direction of the ball and upwards.
- Recover to ready position.
