Club Membership Fee
As previously notified the club will be introducing a membership fee for 2008/09 of £10 for adults, £5 for juniors & full time students (£20 family). 
Only members will
• be able to play for the club in Plymouth League, British League, National Junior League etc.
• benefit from reduced rates at club sessions & be eligible for block bookings
• continue to benefit from the huge discounts on offer from Thornton’s Sport & Leisure (non-members will pay 10% more, payable to club funds)
• play in Club Championship events

Non-members will be allowed to attend club sessions at the discounted rates before either joining the club or reverting to higher charges.

Club Kit
The long-awaited latest supply of club kit is now available.  If anyone wants to order please do so now as we don't carry large stocks of each size & it takes a long time to re-order.

For the benefit of recent newcomers to the club:
We realise that club kit involves a substantial financial outlay.  We guaranteed not to change this new kit for at least three seasons when it was introduced at the start of this season.  We have kept prices as low as possible.  The club is subsidising the price & has arranged an excellent deal with Thornton’s to enable us to sell below half the brochure price despite the cost of embroidery / printing.  All the kit is top quality table tennis clothing which is used by our top players in national competition.  There is no obligation for any club members to buy any part of the kit, whether playing in the Plymouth League or not.

Prices are as follows :

 Shirt (Blue or Yellow) £13 (£11)
Shorts £9.50 (£8)
Tracksuit £28.50 (£24.50)

 

Club Fees
The club has held its prices (and in some cases reduced them) for a number of years, while costs have escalated – there have been two increases this year (a total of over 15%) in our hire charges from the Woolwell Centre. We are anticipating small increases next season & intend introducing a membership fee (details above). We will hold Plymouth League fees at last year’s levels (despite some increases from the League) but all players representing the club at any level will need to take out membership.

 

Sponsorship
Despite the change of ownership, the sports & social club at Babcock Marine have continued their valuable support for Woolwell Table Tennis Club with another year's sponsorship deal & are making a considerable contribution towards its growth.

 

Clubmark
You will all hopefully be pleased to learn that Woolwell Table Tennis Club has now achieved Clubmark status, the nationally recognised accreditation for well run sports clubs. Thanks are particularly due to Liz May who did most of the work on the club's behalf, & Regional Development Officer Chris Brown who painstakingly guided us through the whole process.
